Unbelievably, I sense that this thread is actually reviving and heating up again.  I don't want to discourage that.  As I said earlier, I truly enjoy the banter.  I am amazed at the pretzel-like contortions in logic we perform to rationalize our preferred reaction.  All we have with which to work (talk about pretzels  ::)) is a simple declarative statement that he's not playing in the Sun Bowl in order to better prepare for the NFL combine.  OK, we mourn for a bit or go through our five stages, whatever.  Then.  We're over it!  Right?  Or will we never be over it?  I'm pretty sure we will not be talking McCaff into changing his mind and playing.  And we have parsed everyone's words in every imaginable way.  I'm over it.

But Goose, I am 100% convinced that he is NOT selflessly stepping aside to give his peers more reps.  That is delusional.
