I'm not sure we cited the Peter King interview he did with Shaw, (http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/12/27/themm...n-stanford) but my thinking has evolved on the will-Shaw-leave subject. The quote about his youngest leaving Stanford is from the very beginning of his tenure. While he's still enthusiastic about Stanford, he's been less emphatic and specific about it than before.
In particular, after listening to the interview -- Shaw mentions something like "if I go, it'll be with eyes wide open" -- I think he will leave. Not imminently, but perhaps in the medium-term. I could see him going, say, five years from now or for the right opportunity. So if a Denver or comparable team were to offer him the job, I wouldn't be shocked if he left. Not for San Francisco though.Â
