But you're definitely right that, based on what we know, it's pretty unlikely that he'd go anywhere like SF of Jacksonville, but Denver is worrying. Do Shaw and Elway know each other at all?

Yeah, definitely Kremlinology.

Elway has come by to scout, and obviously had his jersey number retired in the 2013 Oregon-Stanford game. IIRC contemporaneous reporting made it seem like Shaw drove the retirement decision,* so I imagine they have a reasonably warm relationship.

*(which, for the record, I still somewhat disagree with. Toby should've been honored as well.)
