Why do people say this? It's very obviously not true. Belichick, for one, offered Kelly a job if he wanted one last year and surely would again. Would Kelly want to be an OC/assistant after being a HC? Who knows? Would he want to go back to college and have to deal with recruiting and boosters again? Who knows? But going to Cal would be really odd for him.
