But if Wilcox can prove that his team will play exciting and interesting football in the next two seasons . . . not win the Pac 12, which would be impossible, but just be more competitive against Stanford or maybe upset one of the top tier teams . . . now that gets the attention of high school prospects. Otherwise, Cal is in danger of losing further relevance and creating more empty seats in a stadium which, after a 2012 remodeling project, has a brobdingnagian debt service.
