My guess is he's a kid who got into Stanford and wants to try out for the team.  On the surface of it, his statistics wouldn't even support a walk-on status, not as a 6'5", 195 pound, 4.67 40 TE/MLB combination.  He made 47 catches over the past two years, averaging 26 yards per reception.  Looks like he led his team in tackles or close to it, but honestly, he looks like a really good high school player (Defensive PoY in his league) who, in all likelihood, would probably ride the pine in the Ivies.
