As a result of the kind words from my fellow Cardboarders, I gotta come clean. Much of what I post simply travels from Swimswam.com, through my eyes and fingers, to this site. The guys on Swimswam are total geeks, as reflected in the following:

From this breakdown comes a couple observations re Stanford. One, a 4th place finish looks like it will be tougher than I thought while basking in the glow of the Pac-12 title. Two, the amount of swimmers/swims relative to predicted points produced by those swims underscores the number of very good but not great swimmers Stanford has (among the top 0.01% of the swimming population, of course).Â
OTOH, given the razor thin differences between, say, 10th and 25th place, more swims mean more chances to score.
