I can forgive, maybe even justify an expanded Little League strike zone for the reasons given. NCAA baseball is a whole other ballgame. At that and any other level above Little League, pitches that travel over the right hand batter's box chalk lines should never, ever be called strikes.
As an aside, there seems to be more discussion about using technology to call the strike zone. I even heard there is a potential "compromise" technology being developed, one that gives umpires a mask with a sort of display that allows them to see where the ball travels, so all the home plate umpire would need to do is call what the display indicates. In any case, I'm confident that within 10 years, technology will be being used to call balls and strikes.
