Ruth, Gehrig, Sisler, Foxx and Cronin. All HOF, have no idea re ballot but it was much harder then to get in. What SF HS has two HOFers?

Strikeout victims were Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Al Simmons, Jimmy Foxx, Joe Cronin and Lefty Gomez.  All six were Hall of Fame members.  Ruth, Simmons, Foxx and Cronin were first-ballot hall of famers. 

Lefty Gomez never received more than 46% of the vote, and was ultimately voted in by the veterans' committee in 1972.  Lefty went to Richmond HS in SF Richmond, incidentally.

Lou Gehrig was inducted in a special 1939 HoF election.  He received write-in votes from 22.6% of the BBWAA members in the inaugural 1936 Hall of Fame vote, then the five year waiting period was instituted.
