It is the easiest thing in the world to judge a twenty-year-old kid on standards that many adults don't follow. I understand and value sportsmanship, and it's something I preach to the kids I coach -- but I completely understand why Rosen might've just wanted to get the heck outta Dodge. In fact, I often look at those post game scenes with kids from both teams milling about and chatting with each other amiably when only minutes before they were pounding each other, and I wonder how they do it. (And by the way, ever notice which conversation is often the shortest -- the one between the head coaches, the two adults, who often go in for the obligatory handshake without breaking stride.)

You don't have to like Josh Rosen, but you probably shouldn't bury him because he didn't shake anyone's hand in the moments following what might've been the greatest athletic disappointment of his life.
