The reality is Rosen is an elite QB who is probably trying to do too much to help his team win, because the guys he plays with aren't up to his level. Imagine if he had a great OL who afforded him great pass protection, and had a productive, reliable running game. Imagine if he had an elite WR corps. Imagine if his team's defense was a lock down unit.
If you were as talented as Rosen and just got your ass handed to you in a game you threw 60 times, by a team that just notched its 10th consecutive victory against your team, you'd probably want to go hide too. And you might be even more likely to do it because you were still bothered by the fact that school didn't offer you a scholarship.
None of this makes Rosen a bad guy, and it doesn't make Shaw look prophetic for not offering him a scholarship either. Sometimes, things just happen and there is no sinister reason that they do.
Amen.
Funny how things like a lot of Stanford players making a beeline for the locker room after the UC Davis embarrassment were excused with 'well they didn't want to interrupt the celebration' but Rosen's a "punk" because he just wanted out of there. It happens a lot more than anyone wants to acknowledge and at all levels where they don't force the 'slap hands/good game' lineup. The only time I can remember a reprimand was when Teich, the Navy fullback, had to miss a game because he wouldn't stand for the singing of USAF's alma mater after a brutal loss.
Rosen looks pretty good to me, although probably not enough of a savior to do it all without a defense. How that will translate to the NFL is anyone's guess.
Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working .I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. Peter Gibbons
