Why does Coach Shaw (and/or his henchmen) have to say anything about who is going to start.  For one simple possibility, what happens if Chryst slips in the shower tonight?  Do they have to hold another presser tomorrow morning?

Did Eisenhower have tell Hitler that Patton was relaxing across the channel while the D-Day Armada was on it's way to Normandy?

If there had been a betting line in Vegas on the results of D-Day, then, yes, Eisenhower would've had to announce his starters also.
