Yes, Georgia fans were unpleasant both before and after the game. I went with my old roommate and another person from my freshman dorm. We pulled up to our hotel the day before the game - IIRC, the Holiday Inn across from the Astrodome. As we were getting out of our car, two cars of Georgia fans pulled up. Their cars were painted with phrases like "Do it dawggy style". Odd thing was, these fans were not students but people in their forties. They took one look at us and drawled, "Well, thank y'all for comin', too bad you're gonna lose." BTW they did not look like college graduates.
After the game, a couple of Stanford students were rearranging the letters on a sign in the lobby that said something like, "Welcome Stanford and Georgia fans" to make it say, "Stanford #1". Up walks a Georgia fan - and again, this is a person in his late 30's at least - and his temples are tensed and there is steam rising from his head. "Whaddya mean, '#1'? So you beat us. So? We gonna be national champeens next year! I bet ya! I bet ya!" I thought he might start throwing punches. What horrible losers.
