His extrapolated 16 game stats would be 99rec for 800 yards, ~6 TD, and 300 rush yds. Id call that a breakout rookie season, though admittedly not in the fashion all of us anticipated. Its not his fault that his team has a poor Oline with a non QBs averaging fewer then 3 ypc.
I hope that CMacs NFL usage convinces Bryce Love to return for a year to develop a receiving game and enhance his draft stock.
Fair points all. But the other side of the coin is that he's a RB who just got his 100th rushing yard 6 games into the season. His touches in the run game have also dropped steadily, as has his YPC. We can complain that it's not his fault and the OLine stinks, but the Panthers are still running the ball, just with a different back. Yes,he's heavily used in the passing game, but 7.9 yards per catch isn't really setting the world on fire. And he hasn't had any real explosive plays except for on 37 yard catch against the Saints, who everyone seems to have a big game against.
In the end, perhaps it's a qualitative measure. I haven't seen anything from him that makes him must see viewing for the little time I have for the NFL. Other people may take more pleasure from watching him catch 5-15 yard check down receptions than I do or have more time for football viewing.
