I am sure there are thousands of tickets floating around.  Announcing that Stanford has sold out might make some believe that there is no need to go.  That's not true, each Stanford fan that attends replaces an OK State fan.

I doubt anyone decides to go simply because they thought Stanford din't sell out the allotment. If anything, I think this announcement is more likely to encourage those who plan to go to make their ticket arrangements soon instead of risking not finding tickets later (most folks know about third party ticket sources).

In balance, I think the procrastinators who get off their butts and get their tickets after seeing this are more likely to outnumber the folks who see this and decide there are no tickets to be had anywhere (the latter group were probably looking for some excuse to not go anyway).
