I know you are making a sarcastic jest, but this thought actually crossed my mind when watching the game. "Is it possible that Shaw somehow can't see what the TV audience is seeing--that he somehow doesn't know that there are defensive linemen in the backfield on every first down?" I could never entirely dismiss that silly nagging suspicion, since it would have explained what otherwise seemed to be completely irrational.
