This is the same sort of injury that SC RB had a few years ago (Stafon Johnson I think). Potentially life threatening. I'm guessing it was not a very severe one or he would not have been able to finish the game. I'm guessing he should be fine next year.

Johnson needed a tracheostomy, something Anderson will likely be able to avoid.

As I recall that was a freak weightlifting accident where he dropped the bar on a bench press right onto his throat and fractured a larynx.
