Defense. Stanford gave up over 600 yards to SC. And they hung for a while it was 21-17 with a couple minutes left in the first half then SC march down the field and scoredjust before half. Stanford could never really get back in it. They cannot allow SC to go on a long sustained drives again and again and again. And they cannot hang with SC in a high-scoring game. So while the downfield passing game passing game against ND was good to see, figuring out a way to slow down SCs offense is the key to me. Easier said than done.
They seemed pretty motivated when we played them in September.

Quite true. They owned us on both sides of the ball. Our lines got crushed. Hopefully a few things have changed.
On the plus side: we have a new quarterback, their quarterback is struggling, our o-line seems to be more consistent, and we're playing close to home.
On the down side: Love hurts, our defense is in tatters, they've had an extra week to rest.
Not sure if we'll pull off the upset, but if we are as creative on offense as we were in the second half today, I like our chances. I'll take us and the points.

Last time we faced motivated U$C we waxed them in the CCG. I love it when we're underdogs.
