Look at the tv ratings. N.otre Dame is the most watched game Stanford plays every year.  By far.

Prior to yesterday, the most watched 2017 Stanford game was U.SC with an audience of 2.069 million.  Yesterday's audience will probably come in at 5-6 million people.

In 2015, N.D at Stanford drew 7.3M people.  The Irish may want to come West for recruiting. But the game really helps Stanford's exposure too.

Prestige game, really.
