Yes, Troy coming back as an OC sounds incredible. The timing seems perfect.
I think the concern is not on our end, its that Troy could get a HC offer somewhere.
Regarding Norm Chow, I was a fan of his, but I think itd be an unwise move for Stanford. When he want back to UH, I thought itd be a perfect fit, but they continued to struggle, terribly. I dont recall any offensive innovation (like weve seen from Lane Kiffin) to outperform their budget and recruiting shortfalls. I worry he hasnt executed at a high level in a long time.
If Walters tried to run CFU's offense at Stanford it would be a disaster, just like when Buddy Teevens tried to bring Florida's potent, pass happy offense. Stanford, like Wisconsin, runs the Power O offense because it gives them their best chance to WIN given their resources and positions that they can successfully recruit, i.e., OL, TE, FB. It's not going to change as long as Shaw is coach, which I hope is many more seasons. I think Shaw looks to the NFL to find his OC, a coach well-versed in the Power O scheme and all its variances.
