I attended the Willingham Rose Bowl in 2000 and his Seattle Bowl game in 2002.  I cannot imagine a
Stanford fan longing for a return of those two offenses--and those were Willingham's two best teams.

Fully agree. Even with those "good" teams, most Stanford fans did not expect to win the Rose Bowl game. It was just how bad we would lose that was in question. The team played better than anyone could have ever hoped, but it wasn't enough.
