I remember hoping to get Nared here at Stanford. Didn't she know someone on our team? Maybe it was McCall? But the Oregonian followed Mercedes to Tennessee.
Totally agree with liking Warlick for who she is and how she has led the program, which is why I prefaced it by saying "I hate to say it." I just don't see much on court adjustments from Tennessee once the game begins.
I think it may have been Kailee Johnson (the one who started with Bird and Karl's class but left the team after her junior year). She's from Oregon and it's hard to remember now, but she was a top twenty recruit (and earlier in the recruiting cycle, a top ten), and I think she played with Nared. BobK might remember better, but I think that was the link.
Incidentally, what is it about Oregon and top women's players? I feel like the state is over represented given its size. Tennessee frosh phenom Evina Westbrook is just the latest top player out of Oregon.
