2006alum, unfortunately, you are right. To see the cloud in the silver lining, despite those "deficiencies" that you pointed out, it took a buzzer beater in OT the last 2 years to beat UConn. The only hope is that a) these two losses show that they are not invincible and will give teams, especially other top teams that they can beat the Huskies and b) it will take time for Christyn Williams and Olivia Nelson-Ododa to adjust to the collegiate game. UConn will need to replace Nurse and Gabby Williams in starting roles so underclassmen might have to take on significant minutes and that might leave them vulnerable to inexperience.
