On Friday, the hunt for new led me to Stanford Admissions Office twitter site and from there I was just a click or two away from Youtube.
Pretty amazing to see that many HS kids now document their decision letters. Lots more seem willing to post their acceptance highlights, but a few brave kids actually document their whole experience.
Seems quite normal for many of these kids to apply to 20 or even 30 schools. I am picking one to just illustrate how easily they move from one school to the next.

For those unwilling to watch, she applied to 24 schools. Was rejected by UCLA, UCB, Stanford and others. Was waitlisted at NYU, UCI, UCD and GW. And was accepted to USC, UCSD and a number of others.
As I have kids entering HS it will be great to preview the process. The stress of clicking through seems like a massive burden, but does make it easier to document (and edit) the decision moments.
FWIW1 - It became clear to me watching some of those posts that USC still informs applicants by mail.
FWIW2 - A few schools provide a link to reveal the decision, but even before a student goes to the site a school might send them invitations to join the admit information website, blog, group, etc.Â
FWIW3 - There are quite a few on Youtube that actually get accepted to Stanford. Those are cool. I wish I had a video of that moment in my life.
