A player grad transfers out of Stanford because of limited playing opportunities, and goes to not just another school, not just an SEC school, but one of the top blue chip programs in the country, where he is projected as a potential starter. And this is not the first time, nor the second time. Between Lyons, Chryst, and now Alexander, this is the third Stanford player transferring from Stanford to a major blue chip program (Michigan, Tennessee, and now LSU) in a search for more playing time. Let that sink in for a minute.

Despite what I am about to write, that is an amazing thought.
However, Lyons didn't find much playing time at Michigan, and Bobk has suggested that he really went there for the Masters degree. Whether Alexander or Chryst actually get significant playing time remains to be seen (though isn't Tennessee's QB situation rather dire - I might put my money on Chryst there).
Others have gone to rather prominent programs as well, but few received much playing time. There was the already mentioned Barry Sanders at OSU for example.
I seem to remember that somebody did transfer and get quite a bit of playing time (if not stats) at a prominent program. Hmmm - maybe Charlie Hopkins??
