Stanford sports equinox?
BC
What's equal about it?  How about zenith?
By the way, Stanford WWP was soundly (IMO) beaten by U$C at Avery. We're tied for 3rd in MPSF with UCLA, behind U$C & ×ÉÉ. The team looked sluggish to me, and committed more errors than I expected (sadly, the bad passes reminded me of WBB). My hopes of Stanford winning the NC in WWP this year have dropped considerably. (I haven't watched the broadcast. Maybe it contains some clue as to any reasons contributing to the loss.) Remember, only 3 go to the NCAA tourney. If we aren't in the top 3 at MPSF, we get no Director's Cup points.

I don't know why they termed it the "Sports Equinox" other than the fact that it tends to happen in the fall and spring when seasons of the various sports leagues overlap.Â

Quote:A sports equinox occurs when the four major U.S. leagues MLB, the NFL, the NBA and the NHL all play at least one game. Theres a very narrow scheduling window when this can happen: Nowadays the MLB season and the start of the NBA season overlap by just a few days or not at all, depending on the NBA tip-off date and the length of the World Series.
It is impossible for all Stanford sports to overlap (because fall sports and spring sports don't overlap). But there should be a relative equinox at the end of the fall season/start of the winter season, and at the end of the winter, start of the spring. I am still curious what day of the year has the most Stanford sporting events. I'm sure Bobk will know, because that is the day he tears his hair out trying to watch all of them.
