He probably already earned some points with the voters just for coming back for his senior year, something that will be played up all season, but now there's this. The sleepy East Coast voters will miss many of his games, but they'll always remember that he made the right choice this week. If this column hadn't been written, no would one would ever remember, not even a week from now, that he didn't go to media day. In fact, 99% of the football fans in America would never have known. By being a jackass, Dodd has actually helped Love's campaign. He's a student first, and now he's actually a martyr for the lost cause of athletes prioritizing academics.
