The prediction of UW in the Rose and Stanford in the Fiesta, with no Pac-12 team in the Playoff, would most likely imply the following combination of occurrences:
1) Stanford at 10-2, including a loss to UW. Or maybe 9-3, with a regular season win against the South champ, such as USC?
2) UW at 11-2, with a loss to Auburn, a win over Stanford, and one other loss. (Despite the weakness of the Pac-12, it would be a travesty if a 12-1 UW team, with wins over Auburn or Stanford and the South champ, were to be denied the Playoff.)
3) No other Power 5 champs with more than 2 losses.
I guess it's somewhat plausible. As always, I'll be pulling for losses by all the heavyweights in the Big-12. It seems like it's always the Big-12 or the Pac-12 that are on the outside, looking in...
