Quote:Oregon's first 3 games are vs. Bowling Green, Portland State, San Jose State. I don't think we will learn anything much about how good they are (or are not) until they play Stanford in three weeks.
In defense of Oregon beginning the season with 3 cupcakes, they initially had Texas A&M slated to play a home and away starting this year, but A&M backed out in '14 when they decided to move to the SEC. I wouldn't know this but was told it was the case needling a Oregon buddy while we watched the Bowling Green game.
IMHO, this many "warm up games" hurts a program, not only in terms of ranking, but in removing the opportunities for in game adjustments that adversity provides. But if Stanford and Oregon are both at full strength and somehow undefeated (well Stanford at least), it will be interesting to see how prepared the Ducks are mentally to battle with the Cardinal after mowing down the short grass.
To Oregon's credit, they play Auburn next year and Ohio State the year after.
