Wrong. Shaw's job is to promote Stanford football. Winning games is just part of the equation. If it were just winning games, we would have very different recruiting standards, wouldn't we?
How many Hei$man candidates have ever taken the course load Bryce is taking and made it his priority that he wants to be a pediatrician? Promoting Stanford football is about marketing. Marketing a great Stanford student like Bryce includes giving him every opportunity to succeed.
I doubt that Voldemort voters, even if they watched this game closely, are going to remember much more than the box score from the game in December. Granted, Bryce had some long runs to enhance the stat sheet, but it is still 136 yards, 1 TD and a 6.2 YPC. I mean, if McCaffrey comes in second after breaking Barry Sanders (Sr.)'s record, I don't know what else to say. I don't think Bryce is necessarily going to win the Voldemort, but I am sure he will be very happy with his Human Biology degree, his NFL career, and his medical school plans afterward in June. With a path forward like that, you can't lose.
Frankly, the name of this thread, and this take is bordering on First Take trolling at this point.
