I have not been to the stadium yet this season. But advertising around the field and on the scoreboard has been at a minimum because Mr. Arrillaga does not like it. I applaud that view and am grateful that his donation has allowed Stanford to forego that blight.
However I have told the AD reps every year at the coach's tour that the retired numbers (1, 7, 16) should be displayed somewhere prominently around the stadium. No action yet. But I am going to keep beating that drum. I love the murals around the concourse. But there should be visible evidence of Stanford football history from the stands and the field as well.
