The field is Bermuda overseeded with rye.

And Bermuda needs sunlight and heat. As I mentioned in that post a loooooong time ago, because the new stadium sides are a lot more vertical than the old stadium, there is much less sunlight that gets to the field over the course of a day. They seem to have made progress but I notice, too, that late in the year, after a rain or two, the field gets pretty chopped up.
