Hamilton is probable.
It’s a “few weeks” for Edwards, not said very definitively, so it could be a while. Shaw admitted that this hurt our communication in the defensive backfield, but it was good to get Antoine back at the same time.
Unless Shaw was being intentionally deceptive, Antoine is fine. There was no mention of Noah Williams being in the game at the end due to an injury to Antoine, as some had speculated.
And Simmons is back, too. Shaw said he played on special teams and we’ll need him on defense this week.
There was no discussion of Toohill - which in Shaw’s world means “no change from what I told you last week.” Clearly, the depth chart has been wrong about Toohill for two weeks running. But you never know - we might see him playing with a cast at some point.
Wedington and Sarrell remain out indefinitely.
I have a feeling both Wedington and Sarrell are going to be redshirt candidates.
What happened to Wedington? I never saw him be down on the field or limp off it. Upper body injury?
No, he hurt his left leg in the first half of the SDSU game. Nobody saw the injury itself, but we saw him on the sideline in the second half in street clothes. His leg was in a brace such that he could not bend his knee.
I guessed it was either a meniscus tear or an MCL sprain, based on the fact that these tend to require 4-8 weeks and an ACL tear would have been announced as season-ending.
