If this 28-27 scenario truly comes to pass, I would like to see it occur with Wazzu scoring a late TD and Leach going for two and failing. Or even better, Stanford scoring a late TD to pull it out (Shaw would never go for two in that same situation).
Unfortunately, I think your other scenario has an even greater likelihood of playing out. That said, when the Dawgs visited us last year on the Farm, I expected us to lose; and we didn't. Go Optimism!
Yeah, I'll have to admit although I wouldn't be shocked if we won, I would be a bit pleasantly surprised. I do expect it to be a close game, and don't think the Cougs are going to hang a 2-3 TD loss on us.
We'll see what happens.
