I would argue that the Costello fumble cost us the game.  I kept waiting for us to get a turnover, but it never came.

Objectively, you are correct. While in a close game, many "little things" matter, losing the turnover battle is not a "little" thing. The fact we got no interceptions was a bit of a surprise to me, but credit WSU for playing mistake free.

Yes, that was my big disappointment: a QB slings it out 50 times, and not one of them is picked off by the defense.  Amazing.  When conjuring up a road-map to victory, I stated that we would need one or two takeaways.  Losing the turnover battle was decidedly not part of that road-map.
