As a former football and wrestling coach, I wonder how difficult it will be, as a result of this MD debacle and the death of a player, to get players in shape to play football. Kids don't push themselves. They have to be "encouraged" to work hard and dig deep. If they are not in shape, they are more likely to get hurt playing.
Clearly, the MD coaching staff crossed the line and it resulted in the death of a young man. When this happens, there should be no hesitation in terminating the responsible persons. The way MD handled this incident is a permanent stain on their program.
