There is definitely a component of luck involved.  Recovery of fumbles is a 50/50 proposition.  We “forced” two fumbles by Oregon and recovered both of them.  Had one of them bounced differently we would have lost.  We also forced a fumble by Washington, but they recovered their own ball.  Had we fallen on it, we might have won.

There is more luck involved in turnovers than most people think.
