Ohhhh....

The mere thought that the letter was needed almost made me cry.  It must be so hard to be the parent of a place kicker.  I am thankful that this happened to him at Stanford and not at other schools.  Here, at least, I suspect the community is able to move along and let it go.  At other places this whole event could almost be dangerous for him and his family.

No one cares about the place kicker until the place kicker misses.  That's the way it goes, but even last night the Northern Illinois place kicker missed 3 FGs.  It happens.  The difference?  That team won, so no one really cared that the kicker had a terrible night.  Well, that, and no one was probably watching the GoDaddy.com bowl.
