Stanford was sloppy today. Officially, they committed 2 errors. I thought the official scorer could have given Stanford 2 more. One on the dropped ball at the plate. The other on Wulff who bobbled a single in RF in the 6th that allowed a USC runner on 1st to reach 3rd. This was one batter after Kinamon misplayed a sharp grounder at 2nd.
We can expect to see this type of low scoring, every-play-countsĀ game in the NCAAs. You have to scratch and claw for every run. 4 hits and weak defense will not get it done in the tournament.
