The camaraderie, the friendships, the humanity that these players learn as they play more for each other than for themselves--those are the redeeming lessons of this game.Â
It is touching to see Mrs. Williamson's letter. While most of the country was sympathetic for Jordan as an individual, it reminds us of the tremendous role of the family of an athlete. Thank goodness for Jordan that he has that level of support at home, from his team, from the fans, and from the university.
