I am always interested in the Apple Cup because I grew up in Seattle as a Husky fan. I suffered one of the coldest games of my life at the 1970 Apple Cup in Spokane. The Husky coaching staff always tried to sensitize out-of-state players to the importance of the rivalry. In the immortal words of one assistant coach: "Listen, guys, you don't want to lose to Washington State. It's like stepping in dog crap, except it's worse, because you don't get a chance to wash it off for a year."
Washington leads the rivalry 73-32-6, and Washington's current win streak is 6.
