"No. 8 Louisville does what even Team USA could not in women's basketball, handing No. 1 Oregon its first loss of the season 72-62 in the Paradise Jam. Senior Kylee Shook with maybe the game of her career, 18 points and 15 rebounds while also spending time guarding Sabrina Ionescu. But this was a total team win, the Cardinals able to throw so much speed and size at Oregon defensively to erase an early double-digit deficit. Ducks shoot 6-of-34 from 3 against that D."
Oregon was playing its third game in 3 days at the Paradise Jam at the conclusion of a 10 day East Coast road trip that started with a win @ then #17 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome. One might speculate that dead legs were a contributing factor in the very poor shooting performance. It will be interesting to see how Louisville progresses to see if the above mentioned "defensive speed and size" are as formidable as touted. That said, am betting Tara is looking forward to getting that game film that shows Ionescu going 6-20 from the field and 1-9 for 3s.
