I thought of that game as well. When Tre'Quan Smith caught that pass, I was hoping he was going to score a touchdown because I knew there was a good chance the 49ers could get into field goal range with :53 seconds and three timeouts. I remember feeling the same way when Notre Dame was approaching the end zone in 2015.
Kittle was a beast. The 49ers defense needs to lick its wounds and regroup. I hope Sherman is OK. The 49ers certainly held their own on the road against Baltimore and New Orleans. That game 12/29 is going to be, well, of immense proportions.
Edit: This thread compelled me to go onto YouTube and re-watch our final drive in that 2015 Notre Dame game. It seems so long ago at this point. I hope Stanford victories in games between two top-ten ranked opponents are not just things of the past.
