Cozart $9M and won’t play is better than Piller who can?
Miller is going to be a star ? Potential is a French word for ain’t done nothing yet
Like Phogge a Giant fan since 1958. Actually 1952 when As a very young boy bought a comic book about the shot heard round the world Bobby Thompson’s HR to beat the Dodgers
I’m a fan so hope all works out but right now stupid moves
3-9 isnt gaudy Mick? That’s an understatement lol.
1. Potential is actually derived from Latin words that mean "potent power ability."
2. No, Cozart can't play, though he was an all-star two years ago. They wanted to get the overall #15 selection in last year's draft, a player they had scouted and desired, per Farhan. And they got him for, essentially, cash.
3. I don't know what you're referring to with respect to 3-9 not being gaudy. I don't think that was one of my references.
4. I think of Pillar like Bill Walsh thought of Steve Deberg -- just good enough to get you beat. He plays a deep center field because he can't catch balls over his head. He has poor range and can't get on base. Woo-hoo, he had 21 home runs, less than one per every 30 at bats. Yeehah, what a guy. The opponents had 238 home runs in 81 games at Oracle. The funny thing is, we still might get him. But for $6 million, not $10 million. He's a wrong-side-of-30 free agent. We already have half-a-dozen of those.
5. Hitting coaches include the following: Donnie Ecker (33), and likely-to-be-hired Justin Viele (29). Ecker was the Reds' assistant hitting coach last season. Viele played at SCU, so he's automatically awesome. He was a minor league teammate of Yastrzemski's. Apart from that, he was the Dodgers' minor league hitting instructor. Both are experts in analytics, biomechanics and player development.
