I'm prompted to offer my latest bad idea; I'd appreciate learning from everyone why it's so dumb.

It bugs me when opposing teams' offense come up to the line of scrimmage, get ready for the snap, then everyone stops and looks to the sideline for an alternative play call by a coach, based on how the defense has lined up. But it seems to me that us adopting that approach would help us get playing time for our young quarterbacks who are physically ready to play and have learned a chunk of the playbook but can't yet read the defenses and call the right alternative play on their own. No?
