Patterson was a 5 Star coming out of HS. Never played up to the billing.
Isn't he now the 6th most prolific passer in Michigan football history? He just passed Harbaugh according to the TV announcers.
So you would have to say he did pretty well.
Harbaugh has gone 10-3 three times, 8-5 and this year was 9-4. Has lost four of five bowl games. Definitely not as good as Bo, not quite as good as Lloyd Carr, not even as good as Gary Moeller (who went 4-1 in bowl games). But still, better than RichRod and Brady Hoke.
I don't know this for a fact (haven't looked it up), but my instinct is that Harbaugh's Michigan teams have had tough bowl draws (e.g., traveling south to play a southern team . . . that's really good . . . like Alabama, Florida, etc.). I mean, a far cry from a matchup with say . . . UNC or Pitt in El Paso (and btw, I literally had to look up who Stanford played in the last Sun Bowl because the game was so forgettable . . . and I was there!).
We did also play TCU in San Antonio, which, as we saw with Utah-Texas, gives a big home-field advantage to the Big 12 school.
