Statistically, this is wrong, because it assumes that the mean is exact and has no variance. Once you add a standard deviation greater than zero to that statistic you realize that a given outside run may gain more than 4.9 yards or less than 4.9 yards, and that three straight outside runs could gain less than 10 yards when added together.
