Am I the only one who found the update a bit overwrought? Sure, include a statement or two from someone who knew the kid, but language like this:


[*]Inspiring yet humble, he was incredibly well read and deeply interested in history, politics and current events. 
[*]I have heard that when Eitan was with you, he was fully present and focused.



And I just roll my eyes at a campus administrator trying really, really hard.

Sometimes I think Stanford really was better back in my day.

I thought it was a nice way to honor Eitan's life. If this had been my child, I would have appreciated the words of sympathy and care in this statement. I hope this brought some comfort to family and friends.
