We started experiencing a little thread drift in the Humor thread. I felt like the humor thread should be a place to go that is mostly light-hearted, so rather than further contribute to the drift, I chose to start a new thread.
The drift was about weight change during the isolation. I had been thinking about posting something, wondering whether other people were experiencing similar effects or not.
I too have lost 5-10 pounds, probably for the same reason as 82 card (lack of variety in my food preparation and the lack of cues that it's time to eat.). I am now making a more conscious effort to eat more. (I understand a high BMI>40 is a risk factor for a bad outcome of COVID-19,, but that's > 100 pounds more than me) I want to have some reserve if I need it.
One factor is ordering groceries days or a week+ in advance. You can't just buy twinkies on a whim, or run off to Basin-Robbins.
And, sadly, I can't splurge by getting a Clarkesburger. Mmmm, they were good.
Another factor might be reduced activity resulting in reduced appetite. We are walking most days, but I think it is less than the activity I did at work. I probably am standing less. I was wondering if the various exercise places might be willing to lease out their equipment (stationary bikes, etc.).
Maybe part of it is just a change of routine. It takes a while before a replacement routine kicks in. In the new routine, I might eat less & be a little more in the normal BMI range.
