This is straying a bit off the topic, but I'm seeing a lot of comments on weight loss in here and I have always wondered whether our societal fixation on weight as an indicator of health is misguided, vs some other measure of cardiovascular health (such as your ability to run a mile in 9 minutes or some other similar goal). I've spent a little bit of time trying to look for studies on this, not too successfully as I am not a professional medical researcher and the popular media coverage of this is very obfuscated for a sensitive topic like dieting and body image.
